Woodside Distribution (Preston) have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Planner to join their fast-paced, award-winning team.

The Role:
You will support the Distribution Manager in the day-to-day running of Woodside Distribution (Preston Depot) Operations Department. You will maintain a consistently high daily service level whilst ensuring the day-to-day operations run in the most efficient way possible and all other aspects of the operations run accurately and legally.

Key duties and responsibilities:
The successful applicant will assist the Distribution Manager with and, in their absence, oversee the daily operation including but not limited to:
Liaising with our Driver, Warehouse and Customer Service Colleagues to ensure a high service level for our customers.
Ensuring vehicles are planned efficiently, maximising delivery and collection performance.
Accurate booking, monitoring, and updating of consignments on our Transport Management System.
Ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork and that specific customer requirements are adhered to.
Liaising with drivers and driver trainers to ensure completion of all relevant driver training.
Liaising with fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles and equipment are made available for service and MOT when required.
Ensuring that appropriate cover for driver holidays and sickness are planned.
Maintaining and developing new and existing customer relationships.
Working alongside the QHSE Manager to deliver a high level of quality, health and safety.

The Person:
The successful applicant will have:
At least 2 years’ experience in a Transport Planning role within a Pallet Distribution / Pallet Network Operation Environment.
Experience in the daily use of a recognised Transport Management System (such as Stirling, Vigo, Mandata etc), Microsoft office including Outlook, Excel, and a Vehicle Telematics systems preferred.
Excellent knowledge of driver working hours regulations.
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
