The role:

  1. Identify the training needs for all personnel to improve performance and efficiency in all key performance indicators
  2. Develop training materials and packages with support from all manufacturing departments, the Quality Department, Human Resources and external sources
  3. Co-ordinate training activities in conjunction with management
  4. Carryout classroom and on the job training at time agreed with management
  5. Evaluate training activities and implement improvements
  6. Complete all documentation, update Learning Management System, training matrices and reports associated with training activities, in line with the quality management system
  7. Work with the relevant departments to train employees on all new quality and operational procedures to ensure smooth and successful product launches, and take an active role in new product launch APQP reviews
  8. Maintain, control and promote good housekeeping and 5S principles
  9. Participate with team working, information sharing and continuous improvement programmes
  10. Ensure compliance with all quality, health, safety and environmental policies and management systems
  11. Other duties as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline (Candidates with a lesser qualification, with significant manufacturing experience will also be considered)
  • Product, process and quality knowledge in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in assessing training needs and delivering training
  • Product, process, quality and safety knowledge in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to motivate and encourage others
  • Good analytical, problem solving, planning and organizing skills
  • Results focused, with ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft office

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in CNC machining and/or die casting
  • Experience of working within an ISO/ TS16949 environment
  • Experience in the development of training manuals and materials
  • Ability to read, interpret and edit technical training documents
