Fixed Term  – to 31.03.2025. Full Time – Service User Engagement Support Worker – Community and Residential

Mid Ulster Area Mon – Fri 8.30-3.30

External
Carry out  Community Audit of Statutory, Community, Voluntary Services within  Mid Ulster Area
Assist service users to engage with activities, as identified by them, review and monitor progress towards agreed goals
Maintain a person-centred approach, ensuring service users have  information they need to make informed decisions
Develop professional relationships with service users to provide practical support to engage with identified area of focus eg training, education,employment, attending interviews, participating in community activities, social clubs, recreational activities etc
Signpost to other services as appropriate
Liaise with other agencies (NIHE, Social Services, Educational Institutions, Community Groups, Training agencies, charities) to ensure service user engagement is established in  alignment with their goals
Internal
Assist with the implementation of service user involvement / engagement activities across projects in the Mid Ulster area in line with BCM's Service User Involvement Strategy
Engage with and empower service users to drive improvement in quality of services being delivered by BCM by facilitating feedback on services received and providing input on current and future BCM services to align with service user needs
Work across all projects offering advice and support to enable effective engagement in either internal engagement or engagement with the wider community
Maintain accurate and up to date records in relation to work activity and meet relevant deadlines as requested by  Project Manager
Adhere to policies and procedures as set down by BCM and comply with the standards for Social Care Staff as set down by NISCC ( maintain registration annually)
Ensure regular training is up to date both mandatory and additional, to improve knowledge and skill provision
Be available to work at times appropriate to the changing needs of the service users and to ensure the efficient use of staff resources (this may include on occasion, working outside normal hours)
Ensure all work undertaken, and all your communication reflects BCM's core values of Respect, Integrity, Person-Centred and Excellence
Requirements

Skills and Experience
1 year experience working with either younger or older people in a community or residential setting (volunteer experience acceptable)
Knowledge of safeguarding protocols in younger and older people and associated escalation processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport and develop supportive relationships with service user and external agencies
Ability to work independently without direct supervision on a daily basis and as part of a team
Ability to use initiative to resolve issues
Excellent time management skills and ability to organise time effectively
Demonstrable IT literacy including experience using Microsoft Office applications
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required for this role
Qualifications
QCF Level 2  Health and Social Care is desirable or commitment to undertake
GCSE Maths and English Language Grade C or above or equivalent
