Serum Formulation Supervisor – (Job Ref: 23N/SFSS)

We require a highly motivated and dedicated individual to work within our busy Formulation Department as a Serum Formulation Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for the filtration / formulation of Randox control materials in accordance with order and product specifications. The suitable candidate has overall responsibility for the running of the Serum Formulation Department.

Based in the Randox Science Park in Antrim, the Serum Formulation Supervisor will be working in a purpose-built state of the art facility.

The Role:

As the most competent and experienced individual in serum formulation procedures, the Serum Formulation Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing team members in all operations associated with Serum Formulation.

The Serum Formulation Supervisor will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the Serum Formulation area.
• Ensuring all production and formulation staff members are compliant in accordance with their individual training plans.
• Ensuring all necessary documentation is reviewed prior to implementing manufacturing activities; and work carried out is completed to the requirements stipulated in the production procedures – following recommended good manufacturing practices.
• Ensuring adequate records are maintained covering the manufacture of every batch of component.
• Devising work schedules.
• Overall responsibility for the Formulation department’s Finished product.
• The troubleshooting of formulation queries and continual improvement of formulation processes.
• The liaising with customers regarding the manufacture and the setting of ranges for custom- made serum

The Production Supervisor will oversee aspects relating to the continued operation of the Formulation department, including:

• Ensuring training events are completed as directed and on time.
• The supervision of staff and the allocation of duties including the performance of various formulation procedures and the routine maintenance and calibration of formulation plant and instrumentation.
• Ensuring designated staff are carrying out assigned duties as requested.
• Ensuring that Key performance indicators are measured and reported to the Lean Manufacturing Department and weekly manufacturing reports compiled and presented.
• Dealing with any critical issues which may arise, in conjunction with the manufacturing manager.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure efficient manufacturing flow.
• Raising and responding to Non-Conforming Product, Product/Process Changes Authorizations.
• Supervisory/ Management experience.
• Lean / Continuous improvement knowledge and or techniques would be desirable.
• Personnel development skills would be advantageous.
• The Production Supervisor will be directed by and report to the Serum Formulation Manager.

The Candidate:
Essential:

• Be qualified to at least degree standard in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology or a Life Science or have considerable relevant experience.
• Have a strong background of working in a manufacturing environment.
• Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Possess excellent organisational skills.
• Team Leader experience
• Computer literate and be confident in the use and application of Microsoft Office packages.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety including CoSHH.
• Experience of Quality systems.

Desirable:

• Previous experience of the manufacture or development Clinical Chemistry Reagents.
• Supervisory / Management experience.
• Lean / Continuous improvement knowledge and or techniques would be desirable.
• Personnel development skills would be advantageous.
