The role:
Principal Duties:

  • Practise and promote good housekeeping and 5S techniques
  • Responsible for training of all team members, help develop training needs and implement training plans as required
  • Drive cell ownership with all team members
  • Take the lead role in TPM and 5s activities
  • Deputise for the Manufacturing Supervisor in their absence
  • Lead daily hex-board production review and morning meetings, and also lead the weekly department scorecard meetings as required; participate in weekly production reviews along with cell engineer
  • Ensure adherence to the 4-week production schedule
  • Ensure all team members adhere to all processes and procedures at all times, without deviation
  • Take the lead role in helping production operators with set-up, adjustment, trouble shooting and minor repair of equipment; participate in making CNC program edits
  • Complete understanding of cell automation and robot recovery
  • Able to carry out minor fixture repairs, i.e. replace broken clamp and bent fixture pins, seal change and trouble-shoot on leak testers
  • Set up and check machine tools as required; MSTDI paperwork to filled in and issued correctly
  • Complete the sign-off or review of finished goods as per QA instruction
  • Raise NCMRs (Non-conforming Machine Report) and quarantine any defective parts which require QA review
  • Ensure that MSDTIs (Machine Shop Dimensional tooling Issue), NCMRs(Non-conforming Machine Report)  , PCRs (Process Change Request) are logged and actioned correctly
  • Participate and lead information sharing, team working, 5S and continuous improvement programmes; this includes responsibility for sharing all information at shift changeover
  • Ensure employee safety, compliance to all H&S rules, housekeeping and security needs of assigned staff; this includes ensuring team members wear the correct PPE and compliance with the Mobile Device policy
  • Comply with the Company Environmental Policy and the Environmental Management System in both normal and emergency situations
  • Other duties as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a machining/manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in delivering on-the-job training
  • Competent and good knowledge of operational and quality
  • Demonstrated commitment to HSE, housekeeping and 5S principles
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping record
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Customer focus and teamwork skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
