The role:
Principal Duties:

  • Monitor daily production and carry out troubleshooting
  • Provide engineering support to all areas of manufacturing by:
  •           · Establishing optimum Die Casting parameters and conditions
  •           · Implementing product design changes
  •           · Developing process improvements
  •           · Providing engineered solutions to product and process problems
  • Develop and execute programs to improve productivity
  • Review customer rejects, implement action to prevent reoccurrence and meet with the customer if necessary to resolve problems
  • Provide engineering support to Die Maintenance during die making, modification and maintenance, and maintain die drawings to ensure that engineering revisions are reflected
  • Initiate and develop good working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Support Sales and Quality Assurance departments as required
  • Stay abreast of technological advances
  • Ensure smooth SOP
  • Comply with all company health, safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures
  • Participate with team working, information sharing and continuous improvement programmes
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Criteria:

  • Third level qualification in an engineering or technical discipline (degree, HND, HNC or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing engineering environment
  • IT literate, proficient in MS Office
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
  • Customer focus and teamwork skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and experience in the die casting industry
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools/techniques
  • Experience of CAD/CAM systems
