The role will be based at our site in Science Park in Antrim.

The Role:

To aid in the design and development of Clinical Chemistry Analysers.
Develop and design concepts based on User Requirements.
Contribute to the development of Functional Requirements Specifications based on User Requirements and approved concept designs.
Develop mechanical designs from concept to prototype and completed system design.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, clearly communicate requirements to other team members to ensure all development and testing is co-ordinated appropriately.
Identify appropriately specified Commercial off-the-shelf products for use within a design.
Liaise with external design / manufacturing companies on technical specifications and project progress when appropriate.
Liaise with Purchasing Department on the identification and evaluation of suitable suppliers.
Generate and maintain technical documentation, specifically, but not limited to, mechanical drawings, work instructions, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Bill of Materials, etc.
Conduct, review, and revise FMEA for module designs.
Contribute to risk / hazard analysis for products under development and released.
Report on status of projects / designs, both orally and in written format.
Conduct and contribute to design reviews.
Assist in training of company staff in the manufacture and service of developed systems.
The Candidate:

Possess a higher-level qualification in Mechanical / Design Engineering, or related engineering discipline, or be able to demonstrate appropriate industrial experience.
Experience using 3D Computer Aided Design software, ideally SolidWorks.
Desire to learn and explore new technologies.

Experience of mechanism design and experience with motion or robotic systems.
Understanding of Design for Manufacture principles.
Knowledge of ISO13485, IEC:EN61010, and Food and Drug Administration guidance for the development of Medical Devices.
