Role Overview
Lagan Specialist Contracting Group are a family-owned leading business with over 50 years’ experience in the Construction Industry. The group works across a diverse range of traditional sectors but also has a focus on innovation and new technology. The group employs over 650 people across the UK, Ireland and Internationally. Lagan Services provides support services to the range of businesses within the group.

We are a fast-growing, progressive company and seek to appoint a Compliance and Sustainability Officer. The successful candidate would be part of a small team of lawyers, accountants and IT & HR professionals and work closely with the Board of Lagan Services and across the wider group of companies.

The successful candidate will be required to assist the General Counsel with implementing the compliance strategy and ensuring that Lagan Specialist Contracting Group operates in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Compliance Officer will also work towards implementing sustainable practices to minimise environmental impact and promote social responsibility. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to be innovative within the role and live through the Company’s core culture and values in what will be a varied and interesting role.

  6. Educate employees on compliance regulations and the impact of non-compliance on the business

What you’ll bring:
Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum two years’ experience working in an organisational environment in a regulatory, business improvement or compliance role
  • IT skills such as using document management systems, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to collect and collate information and present it in a clear and relevant manner
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Degree or other equivalent qualification in one or more of the following areas:
    • Sustainability
    • Environmental Management
    • Business Administration/Governance
    • Law
    • Construction related qualification

It would be useful but not necessary for you to have any of the following:

  • Experience working in regulatory matters; and/or
  • Experience in a commercial environment e.g., some form of business environment; and/or
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards and requirements
  • Membership of IEMA
