Community Development Officer
We are seeking to recruit a Community Development Officer to work as part of the Ulster-Scots Community Network’s development team, implementing a community outreach and development programme with community groups, schools, libraries and local authorities. The role will include increasing the capacity of member groups, assisting them to play a full part in the life of their community, to help foster links between the Network and its member groups and to grow the membership base of the organisation.
The role will include helping and advising local groups to source funding, improve their governance and to identify training and development needs.
Helping groups to promote Ulster-Scots history, culture and language will also be a key part of the role and working with various groups and organisations to achieve this will be important.
The candidate will be self-starting with experience of the community development process, working with a range of groups and sectors and be prepared to work outside the traditional 9 – 5 on occasions.
The post is made possible with financial support from the Ulster-Scots Agency.
