Commis Chef

The Mount Charles Group have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our catering team at Radius Glenowen Court, based in Belfast.

Working Pattern:

• 24 hours per week.
• 3 days per week – on a 2 week rotational rota. 
• 08:00 –  16:30

​​​​​The Role:

• To prepare and cook imaginative and healthy food according to menus cycles.
• To continually strive for the improvement of the quality of food, quality of service, gross profit margins, efficiencies and the financial results of the department.
• To ensure high level service of all meals with special regard to consistency and presentation.
• To work with scheme/ home managers to ensure standards and expectations are met to service level agreement.
• Knowledge of or training in the provision of modified foods for dysphagia diets levels.
• To ensure the correct usage of all equipment and materials by staff within the outlet.
• To ensure compliance with the requirements of food hygiene regulations, Health & Safety, COSHH regulations, risk management practices and allergy regulations.
• To ensure documentation for internal monitoring systems are completed; specifically, RQIA standards.
• Customer care and rapport essential in a residential setting

The Person:

• Good communications skills
• Minimum Level 2 award in Food Safety and Catering or equivalent
• Strong customer service skills
• Previous experience working in a catering environment
• High levels of personal hygiene and appearance.
• The ability to prioritise and have an eye for detail
• The ability to demonstrate great team work skills
